About Us

We are an informal multinational congregation of around 100 on a Sunday morning. Our Sunday worship is relaxed using a mixture of new and lively songs as well as the odd traditional song. Occasionally we hold evening services however these are in a more relaxed ‘cafe’ church style. Every 4-6 weeks we hold an all age service. We also encourage the sharing of testimonies during services.

We also hold activities for the youth on a Sunday and throughout the week including, Sunday school, bible classes, cell groups and youth club. The youth also go away each year and go on various social outings.

During the week we hold a variety of activities both at the Church and also in people's homes. These include small groups, cell groups, prayer meetings, outreach events aswell as the various activities geared towards the youth.

Our style of praise and worship is fairly relaxed using a range of modern as well as the odd more traditional song.

Praise and Worship at CHBC >>>

There has been a Baptist witness in Chadwell Heath since 1829. The current church building was opened in September 1905 (over 100 years ago!) and has provided a place of worship ever since. During this period we have had only 9 pastors with our previous pastor leaving in 2010.

We are a self governing church with the active involvement of about 80 people, with around 50 having committed themselves as members. The church is self supporting in respect of its own needs, but also gives to Christian work in this country and world-wide. We are members of the London Baptist Association, the Baptist Union and the Evangelical Alliance.

We seek to worship God and pray together, to share the good news of forgiveness for sin and eternal life through Jesus Christ, to encourage people to be His disciples, to serve the local community in the name of Jesus and support His work world-wide.

We encourage those who have put their trust in Jesus as Saviour to be baptised. We also dedicate infants who are brought by parents, and support these children through prayer as they grow up.

Our Purpose is:-

  • To love God with our whole heart
  • To communicate and embody God’s love to every person
  • To invite every person to find peace and purpose in God’s kingdom
  • To make Christ known in a hurting world

A Healthy Balance:-

We want to grow, and are open to change what we do as God directs us at any time. We believe that the church will be in good health if we keep a balance between:

  • Prayer and worship
  • Healing and pastoral care
  • Evangelism and community involvement
  • Teaching and discipleship

    Membership:-

We encourage all regular worshippers, who share our convictions and have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and Lord, to join us as Members of Chadwell Heath Baptist Church.

We believe that:-

  • There is only one true God and that He is three persons in one: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • Jesus is the Son of God, truly God and truly man. He was born of a virgin, died on a cross, in our place and for our sins, to make us right with God. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven from where He now intercedes for all who believe in Him, and will come again in person, in triumph to reward His own.

  • The Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God. It is the infallible rule of faith and practice, containing all guidance necessary to salvation.

  • God gives new birth by the Holy Spirit to all who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord; that Jesus fills the seeking believer with the Holy Spirit empowering them for service; that the Holy Spirit lives in us to make us holy and Christ like, the evidence of His presence and activity being in the fruit of Christian character.
